今年四月受訪時Caglianone曾經說過一直有在關注大谷，覺得大谷的職業態度跟做事的方式對他幫助很大
“Shohei’s definitely the guy that I've looked to ever since he's busted on the scene, just kind of his work ethic and how he goes about things, it's been real ly helpful for me navigating through the college season," Caglianone said.
也說了很想在職棒層級繼續打二刀，不過如果球團強烈要求他專注一項的話他也會接受
“I'd love to [be a two-way player] at the professional level. But if a team ... is very adamant about me just doing one or the other, then I gotta make it work somehow.”
