The NBA is slowly moving away from Big Threes, but there are still some teams set up nicely with this model.
And while LeBron James' decision will likely impact this list, the bulk of fre e agency is behind us, and it's time to rank the best Big Threes in the game r ight now.
There are some criteria for the rankings. For starters, past success is a key indicator of future performance. Positional balance and roles they fill will a lso be taken into consideration.
Additionally, where is the defense coming from in this grouping, and how do al l the pieces fit together offensively?
These were all key factors in the rankings.
Two notable omissions from our list: Even though the Los Angeles Lakers are pa ying Walker Kessler as if he's a third member of a potential big three, he has little track record to make the case, so L.A. is just a Big Two. Same for the Golden State Warriors, who are likely without Jimmy Butler for the season.

至於金州勇士也是如此，由於球隊很可能整個賽季都將缺少 Jimmy Butler，因此同樣未被列入三巨頭行列。
5. Philadelphia 76ers
Big Three: Tyrese Maxey, Jaylen Brown, VJ Edgecombe
This might be a shot in the dark, claiming this newly formed trio as a Big Thr ee for Philadelphia.
For starters, Joel Embiid is not included because it is hard to count on him c onsistently given his injury history.
Instead, this group starts with Tyrese Maxey, who took another leap as a lead guard last season. It wasn't just his scoring that stood out, but the way he t ook control of the team from a leadership perspective. He averaged 28.3 points while shooting 46.2 percent from the field, earned his second All-Star appear ance and made his first All-NBA team.
Joining Maxey is Jaylen Brown, whom the Sixers acquired in exchange for Paul G eorge. It's a massive upgrade for Philadelphia. Brown is coming off leading th e Celtics to another 50-plus-win season, is only two years removed from winnin g Finals MVP and finished sixth in MVP voting in 2025-26. Beyond his scoring, he's a high-level defender who is more than willing to take on the toughest as signments.
The third spot requires a bit of faith. VJ Edgecombe had a stellar rookie seas on, but he still needs to build on it. He was electric in transition whenever seams opened up and attacked the rim with explosiveness. He also showed plenty of promise defensively as a rookie and should handle point-of-attack assignme nts this season, allowing Brown to match up with bigger wings.
Coach Nick Nurse should have plenty of flexibility in how he deploys this trio. On the nights Embiid is healthy, Philadelphia can create even more lineup co mbinations. Even without relying on Embiid, though, the Brown trade has given the 76ers the foundation of a legitimate Big Three.
5. 費城 76 人

總教練 Nick Nurse 在運用這組三巨頭時，將擁有相當大的戰術彈性。只要 Embiid 保持健康出賽，費城便能排出更多不同的陣容組合。不過，即使不依賴 Embiid，透過引進 Br own，76 人如今也已建立起一套名副其實的「三巨頭」核心架構。
4. Cleveland Cavaliers
Big Three: Donovan Mitchell, James Harden, Evan Mobley
Last season was a weird year for the Cleveland Cavaliers. To quickly recap, th ey started out slow, traded 26-year-old Darius Garland for 36-year-old James H arden, advanced to a seven-game series in the playoffs, all before being swept by the New York Knicks in the conference finals.
The playoffs left a sour taste in everyone's mouth about this team, but at the end of the day, it has a lot of talent. Mitchell has signed an extension. Har den (assuming he re-signs) will have a full training camp and season with the team. And while Evan Mobley regressed, he is just one year removed from being the Defensive Player of the Year and an All-Star.
Mitchell, by the way, is in the midst of his prime at 29 years old, coming off a season averaging 27.9 points on 48.3 percent shooting, which is up from the previous two years. Also, Harden averaged 20.5 points and shot 43.5 percent f rom three while logging 7.7 assists with the Cavs. He can take playmaking resp onsibilities off of Mitchell as well as let him work off ball.
For head coach Kenny Atkinson, he has to get the version of Mobley from the 20 24-25 season back. That year, Mobley did a great job facilitating the offense, even running the break after grabbing a defensive rebound.
Of course, Mobley's position in the Big Three may change if Ohio's prodigal so n, LeBron James, returns for the third time.
4. 克里夫蘭騎士

這次季後賽的結局讓外界對騎士留下不太好的印象，但歸根究柢，這支球隊依然擁有相當豐富的天賦。Donovan Mitchell 已經完成續約；Harden（假設他完成續約）將能擁有完整的訓練營和整個賽季與球隊磨合；而儘管 Evan Mobley 上季表現有所下滑，但他畢竟才在一年前榮獲年度最佳防守球員，並入選全明星賽。
值得一提的是，29 歲的 Mitchell 正值生涯巔峰期。上季他場均攻下 27.9 分，投籃命中率高達 48.3%，比前兩個賽季都有所提升。另一方面，Harden 在加盟騎士後場均繳出 20.5 分、7.7 次助攻，三分球命中率更高達 43.5%。他不僅能分擔 Mitchell 的組織重任，也能讓 Mitchell 有更多機會在無球狀態下發揮進攻威脅。
對總教練 Kenny Atkinson 而言，關鍵在於讓 Mobley 找回 2024–25 賽季的水準。當時的 Mobley 不僅能有效串聯球隊進攻，還經常在搶下防守籃板後親自推進快攻，展現全能身手。
當然，如果俄亥俄州的「浪子」LeBron James 第三度重返克里夫蘭，那麼 Mobley 在這組三巨頭中的位置，很可能會有所改變。
3. Oklahoma City Thunder
Big Three: Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jalen Williams, Chet Holmgren
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is a two-time MVP, a Finals MVP and is the head of the snake for this Big Three. When the ball is in his hands, he's able to manipul ate defenses and gets to his spot on the floor. On top of all that, he's also proved himself to be an elite closer at the end of games.
In the middle has been Holmgren. If it was not for Victor Wembanyama, he would have won Defensive Player of the Year this past season. And with Williams out most of the season, he handled the role as the second option, improving his s coring and efficiency while still protecting the rim at a high level.
The other elite ball handler is, of course, Williams. He's not as smooth with the rock, but he's just as effective. He was voted to the All-NBA third team i n 2025, All-Defensive second team, and he was a huge factor in the Thunder's r un to the championship. When teams put two defenders on SGA, Williams can make them pay with an off-the-bounce game and playmaking.
3. 奧克拉荷馬雷霆
三巨頭：Shai Gilgeous-Alexander、Jalen Williams、Chet Holmgren

坐鎮禁區的是 Chet Holmgren。如果不是 Victor Wembanyama 的存在，他上個賽季很有可能就是年度最佳防守球員。此外，由於 Williams 大部分賽季因傷缺陣，Holmgren 扛起了球隊第二得分點的重任，不僅提升了自己的得分能力與進攻效率，同時依舊維持頂級的護框表現。
另一位頂尖持球核心，當然就是 Jalen Williams。雖然他的運球風格不像 Gilgeous-Ale xander 那麼流暢華麗，但實際效果同樣出色。他於 2025 年入選年度最佳陣容第三隊及年度最佳防守陣容第二隊，也是雷霆奪得總冠軍的重要功臣之一。當對手採取包夾策略限制 Gilgeous-Alexander 時，Williams 能憑藉出色的持球突破能力與組織能力，讓對方付出代價。
2. San Antonio Spurs
Big Three: Victor Wembanyama, Stephon Castle, Dylan Harper
Having Victor Wembanyama as a full-fledged superstar largely impacts the San A ntonio Spurs' place on this list. But Stephon Castle and Dylan Harper are on t he verge of stardom as well. And if these three can stay together, the league will have its hands full with them.
Wembanyama, the senior of the trio at just 22 years old, is also becoming one of the most dominant forces in the NBA on both ends of the floor. He won the D efensive Player of the Year and finished third in the MVP voting last season.
The scary part for the NBA? He will only get better as he is just scratching t he surface of his offensive game.
San Antonio also hit the jackpot with Castle and Harper. Both bring different skills to the court. Castle is a physical guard that can bully his way to the rim, while Harper is more of a smooth driver getting downhill.
After the All-Star break, both players found their three-point shots, Castle s hooting 41.7 percent and Harper shooting 47.9 percent.
The best part of this Big Three is that all players are strong defenders. Harp er came off the bench, but after his stellar performance in the Finals, it wil l be hard to keep him there for long.
If this Big Three never improved, they would still be one of the best in the l eague for years to come. But once they begin to figure the NBA game out, it mi ght be game over for the rest of the NBA.
2. 聖安東尼奧馬刺
三巨頭：Victor Wembanyama、Stephon Castle、Dylan Harper
Victor Wembanyama 已經成長為一位貨真價實的超級球星，這也是聖安東尼奧馬刺能夠高居本榜單的重要原因。不過，Stephon Castle 和 Dylan Harper 同樣正朝著球星之路快速邁進。如果這三人能夠長期並肩作戰，整個聯盟都將為如何應付他們而傷透腦筋。
現年僅 22 歲、也是三人當中資歷最深的 Wembanyama，已逐漸成為 NBA 攻守兩端最具統治力的球員之一。他上季榮獲年度最佳防守球員，並在年度 MVP 票選中排名第三。
更令全聯盟感到忌憚的是，他的進攻能力仍有極大的成長空間，目前還只是剛開始展現自己的進攻天賦，未來只會變得更加可怕。
馬刺在選秀中也可說是抽中了頭獎，成功得到 Castle 和 Harper。兩人的球風各具特色：Castle 是一名身體素質出色、對抗能力強的後衛，能夠憑藉力量強行突破殺入禁區；而 Harper 則屬於動作流暢、節奏感極佳的切入型後衛，擅長利用運球直線突破製造威脅。
全明星賽後，兩人的三分球都有明顯進步。Castle 的三分命中率高達 41.7%，Harper 更達到 47.9%。
這組三巨頭最大的優勢，在於三位球員都是優秀的防守者。Harper 原本主要擔任替補，但在總冠軍賽繳出極為亮眼的表現後，球隊恐怕很難再讓他長期待在板凳席。
即使這組三巨頭未來完全沒有進一步成長，他們依然足以在接下來多年穩居聯盟最頂尖的三巨頭之一。然而，一旦他們真正摸透 NBA 的比賽節奏與打法，對聯盟其他球隊而言，恐怕就真的「比賽結束了」。
1. New York Knicks
Big Three: Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, OG Anunoby
The NBA champions are more than their Big Three; they won the title with timel y contributions from their bench, namely players like Mikal Bridges, Mitchell Robinson and Landry Shamet, to name a few.
However, their Big Three of Brunson, Towns and Anunoby has to be labeled the b est in the league.
Overall, it is a beautifully organized grouping with each player filling a nee ded role. Brunson is the primary ball-handler on offense, working off of pick-and-rolls with Towns or out of isolation. And when it comes to crunch time, hi s number will often get called, and teams in the playoffs could not stop him f rom coming up big, time and time again.
Towns, on the other hand, not only operates as Brunson's pick-and-roll partner but is a secondary playmaker the Knicks can use from the elbows. In fact, the adjustment after Game 3 in their first-round series against the Atlanta Hawks sparked their title run. He is capable of having explosive nights with his de ep shooting that spreads the floor. Also, Towns is coming off one of his best defensive seasons in his career.
The third leg here is Anunoby. It was easy to peg him as a three-and-D special ist early in his career, but he has shown he is much more than that. While he takes on some of the toughest defensive assignments for the Knicks, his offens ive game is more than just standing in the corner and waiting for the ball, an d he has become a well-rounded player and key cog to New York's Big Three.
1. 紐約尼克

至於三巨頭的第三位成員 Anunoby，生涯初期他很容易被定位為一名典型的「3D 球員」，但如今他已證明自己的能力遠不止於此。除了肩負尼克最艱鉅的防守任務之外，他在進攻端也不只是站在底角等待接球投籃，而是逐漸發展出更加全面的進攻技巧，成長為一位全方位球員，也是紐約三巨頭不可或缺的重要核心。
