Willson Contreras said the guys "got loose a little more" after Alex Cora was fi red, adding that he felt the tension was gone.

Are guys pressing more because of the firings last weekend? Are guys intent on getting off to a better start in the fresh start?

WILLSON CONTRERAS: Actually, no, I think it's different that Alex [is] not here. It's already over. But I feel like the guys are — after Cora got
released or fired, the guys got loose a little more, because I feel like the tension was gone. But it's really hard when you go up to bat, and if you look at the scoreboard, your numbers are not there in May — I mean, like I say, it's easy to fall in that trap of the numbers. I've done it before, but with a young group of guys I guess we have to be patient, but at the same time, they're working hard, they have a really good work ethic. They're willing to listen. That's why I said, I keep saying, the mental preparation is really important.

WILLSON CONTRERAS: That's a good question. I don't know. I haven't dug into that too deep, but that's what I felt. That's my own opinion. When Alex
wasn't in the dugout, the team was like [exhale noise], like loose. But it doesn't matter. I mean, we have to play better. We have to find consistency. We have to get better. We have to be better.
